Olorunnipa, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on the sidelines of the 2015 International Museum Day celebration, disclosed that the visitors included local and foreign tourists. He said the figure was higher than the 12,000 which the museum recorded in 2013. “The turn out of school children and students of higher institutions at the museum this year is also encouraging. “We hope to record a higher figure in 2015,” he said. The curator said the 2015 Museum Day celebration was low key because of the economic challenge the country was contending with. “However, we thank God for being able to celebrate it with others in the world,” he added. Olorunnipa, however, urged public spirited individuals to partner with the museum in preserving cultural artifacts.
